Paul Sellew is the Founder and CEO of Little Leaf Farms, the Unites States largest greenhouse producer of hydroponic baby greens. The greens are grown and packaged at its Devens, MA and McAdoo PA greenhouses and sold in over 3500 grocery stores and fine dining establishments throughout the Eastern Seaboard. Paul is a graduate of Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). Paul has served on Cornell’s University Council and the CALS Dean’s Advisory Council and the Board of the US Composting Council.

Sumeeta Salvador is an Associate at S2G Ventures. She is focused on supporting corporate development and stakeholder engagement efforts in order to unlock value for S2G, its portfolio companies, and strategic partners.

Prior to S2G Ventures, Sumeeta worked in Insights & Analytics at Conagra Brands, where she was responsible for translating market, retailer, and consumer trends into actionable insights to inform channel growth and innovation strategy. She has also worked in shopper insights and category management at RXBAR and executed innovation pricing and assortment research for Fortune 500 CPG clients at NielsenIQ.

Sumeeta graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.S. in Business Administration and minor in Environmental Studies.

Matt McGuire

Matt McGuire is Chief Agricultural Officer for JV Smith Companies. JV Smith Companies is a family owned business that own several business units that mainly farms fresh vegetables. His present duties include overseeing growing and ag operation of 35,000 acres of vegetable crops and another 10,000 acres on non-vegetable crops. Operations Matt has worked with include JV Farms, El Toro, MX, Triangle Farms, JVO Organic Farms, Southern Colorado Farms, Skyline Potato, and Skyview Cooling CO.

Throughout the years Matt has had a wide range of experience that include cooling operation, sales, harvest management, grower and general manager of operation in the southwest and Salinas.

Matt obtained his Bachelor’s degree from University of California San Diego, majoring in Biology, minors in chemistry and psychology. Matt has masters course work for a MBA from Texas A&M.

John Appel

John Appel is Head of Commercial, North America, at Biome Makers. Prior to joining Biome Makers, John’s international career has spanned multiple growth-focused roles in the chemical and agriculture industries, including most recently as President and Board Member of BPS Agriculture, a sustainable chemistry company focused on fertilizer and pesticide use efficiency.

John previously held leadership positions at Exacto and Syngenta where he helped shape their respective strategic agendas and consistently delivered double-digit revenue and profitability growth. While at Syngenta, John participated in the company’s selective international leadership program, encompassing innovation strategy, sales management and marketing in various locations in Europe, Africa, and the US. John’s prior experience also includes cross-functional roles at chemical companies such as Ashland and Avantor.

John is a Venture Partner at Vidavo Ventures and Member of the Board of Advisors at agtech startup, Mariposa Technology. In addition, John is an active volunteer and serves on the Board of the Directors for United Planet and the Advisory Board for MicroLoan Foundation. He holds a BA in Chemistry and MBA from Lehigh University and currently resides in Naples, FL with his wife and 3 children.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching baseball, golfing, fishing, and will never turn down a friendly competition.

Alain Goubau is the CEO of Combyne Ag, a software company that provides farmer-centric crop marketing management tools and beyond-the-farm-gate data connectivity and interoperability in grain and oilseed value chains.

Alain grew up on mixed dairy and cash crop farm in Ontario, Canada. Prior to Combyne Ag, Alain led operations at 2 venture-backed agtech and cleantech startups. He has also led various operational and strategy engagements within McKinsey & Company’s agri-business team. Earlier in his career, Alain was a field engineer and project manager with Air Liquide, building chemical plants across the globe.

Leveraging his background in agriculture, technology, chemical engineering, and energy and environmental law, Alain is a passionate builder of teams and innovations across agriculture, energy, and sustainability.

Dave Vosburg

Dave Vosburg

Mr. Vosburg is Chief Innovation Officer of Local Bounti and prior, served as Local Bounti’s COO and CFO and has two decades of international financial, business development and technology experience. Previously he was CFO and Head of Emerging Technology at Sensei Ag, a market changing AgTech venture founded by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.

For five years prior, Mr. Vosburg served as CFO and Head of Business Development of Crop One Holdings, a vertical farming company based outside of Boston, MA. He is also Co-Founder of Conception Nurseries, a micro-propagation company based in Sacramento, CA. In his early career, Mr. Vosburg founded and grew Ed-Tech and Fin-Tech companies in Zambia, working in C-suite roles. He also served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Zambia. Mr. Vosburg earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.

He started his career at Solectron, a pioneer in outsourced manufacturing, and McKinsey in their technology practice, and later served as a general partner with OVP Venture Partners. He served on the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Board system until 2012 as Chairman of the Portland Branch, and was a board member of B Labs until 2018. Dave has, for 13 years, been a professor at Northwestern’s Kellogg Business School teaching and encouraging students to pursue sustainable investing.

Rob’s experience ranges from growth strategy to operating model design to digital innovation across the agri, food, and beverage value chain. He works with client executives in the design and implementation of the appropriate operating model for their business, including strategy/portfolio management, marketing/merchandising, digital agriculture, operational areas, and back-office efficiency.

Orlando is a goal-oriented technology leader with experience in start-ups, buy-outs, venture capital and established companies across telecommunication and agriculture industries. Notable exits include Boingo Wireless, where Orlando led product marketing. Orlando was the Director of the Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology for the State of Illinois where he led $78M government-sponsored investments for early stage startups. Orlando holds a BS Computer Engineering from University of Puerto Rico, MS in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology and MBA at Stuart School of Business. Orlando lives in Florida and is passionate about technology, STEM education and improving farming practices around the world.
